School Excursions & Bus Tours

Immersive wildlife experiences for students and group visitors with optional educational and cultural add-ons.

Wildlife Experiences for Schools and Group Visitors

Secret Creek Sanctuary offers flexible visit options for school groups, seniors, community organisations and tour operators. Choose a simple self‑guided visit or enhance your experience with optional add‑ons including reptile encounters, cultural sessions and wildlife talks.

For schools, we provide curriculum‑aligned excursion packs for teachers and students, designed to support learning before, during and after the visit.

Visit Options

Self‑Guided Sanctuary Visit Explore the sanctuary at your own pace using our clearly marked walking trails and enclosure signage. Suitable for all group types.

Wildlife Talk (Optional Add‑On) A 30-45 minute interactive session introducing key native species, conservation themes and the work we do at Secret Creek Sanctuary.

Reptile Encounter (Optional Add‑On) An hour session delivered by our partner Me & Zoo Animal Presentations, this hands‑on session introduces students and visitors to a range of native reptiles. It’s an engaging, educational experience suitable for schools, seniors groups and community visitors.

Cultural Session (Optional Add‑On) 45-60 minute sessions delivered by OneMob Aboriginal Elders, these sessions explore culture, connection to Country and traditional knowledge through storytelling, art, song, yarning and hands‑on learning. Content is tailored for each group — including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from any mob, as well as non‑Aboriginal groups — to ensure a culturally safe, respectful and meaningful experience for all ages.

Curriculum‑Aligned Excursion Packs (Schools Only) We provide curriculum-aligned excursion packs for Stages 1-3 (Kindergarten to Year 6) at no extra charge. These resources support learning before, during and after the visit and are tailored to the animals at the sanctuary. Teachers will need to print the materials and bring any required items such as clipboards and pencils if they plan to use the packs during their excursion.

Group Sizes & Itinerary Planning

We can help you plan your visit schedule and group rotations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. As a guide, our ideal group sizes for each activity are:

  • up to 25 students for Art & Culture workshops

  • up to 40 participants for Wildlife Talks and Reptile Encounters

  • up to 60 participants for Aboriginal Cultural Talks

Our overall site capacity per booking is up to 60 participants per visit (or one full bus). This ensures we can comfortably manage facilities such as toilets, seating areas and movement around the sanctuary. Larger groups may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and may require staggered arrival times or split‑day programs.

Our pricing is structured per group or per student/visitor, which means we can host multiple smaller groups across the day. If your total numbers exceed the ideal group size for an activity, we simply divide participants into groups and rotate them through your chosen experiences.

If you’re unsure how to structure your visit, we’re happy to assist with a simple itinerary and group flow based on your activities and total group size.
