Simple, nourishing food to connect with country and community.
Over 20 Years of serving the community… there’s been some changes!
We’ve been open for 20 years and over that time there has been various iterations of Secret Creek Cafe and Restaurant. We’re deeply grateful to our local community and the loyal guests from across the region who have supported us through every chapter.
We’re now returning to our original vision - creating a welcoming space where visitors to the sanctuary can pause, connect with loved ones, and enjoy something nourishing in between meeting the native endangered animals who call Secret Creek home. Our service is simple, fast and family-friendly, offered through a relaxed kiosk-style experience.
We’re incredibly proud of our years as a completely plant-based cafe, and we did start the new chapter as such but to keep the kiosk viable and continue supporting the sanctuary’s conservation work, we’ve broadened our menu. If you have specific dietary needs you are most welcome to bring your own food, and we are grateful for every purchase made at the kiosk - each one directly contributes to the care of the animals in our sanctuary.
We’ll change our offerings frequently but some of the things you might find are;
fresh sandwiches and wraps
seasonal salads
pies, sausage rolls, tarts, pastries and other savoury bakes
cakes, brownies, cookies and other sweeties!
a selection of cold drinks, tea and coffee
local products to take home
You can now drop in any time we are open, you don’t need to book!
You will now need to be an annual member if you want to come in without paying entry fee to the sanctuary. But the perks and extras you get are very much worth the extra support you’re giving us!
What else is NEW?
Bundy’s Reading Den
A community library space for both kids and adults where you can chill out and read books. If you’re an annual member you can also borrow books for free too! There will be story readings for kids and a Eco-Socialist book club for grown ups. We’d also love to host other book clubs and author talks. Get in touch if you want to collab!
PS Bundy is the white Alpine dingo in the incredible photograph (taken by Liam Foster) in our library space, he won’t be there! Unfortunately he passed away a couple of years ago, but we named the space in tribute. He always seemed very wise and thoughtful.
Special Events
We will be planning some special events going forward. We would love to hear from our community about what types of gatherings you would like to participate in! We plan to work together more often with our precinct partners, One Mob and AEFI, to bring you events that are focussed more on wholistically celebrating and preserving culture, country and our unique native species.
